Mia Zabelka is among the artists who deliberately push the boundaries of traditional music. Through improvisation, experimentation and a continuous exploration of new sonic worlds, she has developed a distinctive artistic language in which violin, voice and live electronics merge into a unique musical expression.
Her artistic vision closely resonates with the philosophy of the P-ART WEB OF ARTISTS, where artistic freedom, discovery and the exploration of new musical possibilities are central values.
Mia Zabelka first collaborated with P-ART in 2022 as one of the featured artists in the international 10XOPEN project. This creative connection continued in Brussels in 2025 during P-ART's Passion for Experiment concert.
P-ART
With my concept of "Multiversal Music," I explore music as a space of possibilities that extends far beyond traditional notions of melody, form and linear time. I am fascinated by the question of how art can open perceptual spaces that are difficult to grasp through language or scientific description alone.
Inspired by concepts of higher dimensions, complexity research, and developments in music, mathematics and physics, I conceive of music not as a sequence of isolated events, but as an interwoven network of simultaneously unfolding processes.
The violin, with its extraordinary sonic flexibility, enables me to make microtonal intervals, noises, overtones and the subtlest sonic transitions audible. At the heart of my work lies the interplay of acoustic and electric violin, voice, live electronics, sound objects and computer-generated sounds, all merging into a shared multidimensional sonic language.
The violin is continuously transformed into resonant spaces, fields of noise, overtone structures and electronic textures. Acoustic and digital sound sources fuse into complex sonic ecosystems that evolve in real time and open up new modes of musical perception.
The result is the creation of sonic landscapes in which different temporal layers, perspectives and structural dimensions can be experienced simultaneously, guiding perception beyond conventional musical categories.
Comment by Mia Zabelka, 2026

Medusa's Bed brings together three uncompromising artistic voices: Mia Zabelka (electric violin, voice, live electronics), Zahra Mani (electronics, field recordings, bass guitar) and Lydia Lunch (voice, spoken word). Their performances merge experimental music, sonic landscapes, poetry and theatrical expression into an intense interdisciplinary experience that transcends the boundaries between concert, performance art and sound theatre.

Klanghaus Untergreith is an international centre for sound art and interdisciplinary artistic research in Southern Styria, Austria. Founded by Mia Zabelka, it offers artists a place for experimental projects, cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovative performances through concerts, workshops and the Klangzeit Festival.
